To promote research innovation in accounting, finance, and corporate governance in emerging markets and encourage the academic exchanges among scholars across the world, the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) Business School, together with Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) Business School, the editorial board of the Economic Research Journal, the editorial board of Management World, is organizing the Concurrent Issues in Finance and Accounting. The conference will be held on November 15-16 at UIBE in Beijing, China. The symposium will focus on contemporary issues in accounting, finance, and corporate governance in China and other emerging markets, especially how the unique institutional environment and governance issues of emerging markets in the internet era affect firms’ accounting and financial practices.
The conference is initiated and co-chaired by professor Xiumin Martin (Washington University in St. Louis),professor Roni Michaely (University of Geneva) and professor Xinmin Zhang (UIBE).
The conference is inviting internationally renowned scholars in the fields of accounting and finance to give theme speeches, as well as editors of top-tier journals to share their insights in research. Below is the current list of attending speakers:

We welcome submissions of papers on all topics, and we especially encourage research on accounting, finance, and corporate governance issues related to the institutional features of emerging markets. The submission deadline is August 20th, 2019. All submissions should be original (in either English or Chinese) and unpublished.
Please submit the paper as PDF or Word document to uibeaccfin@uibe.edu.cn before the submission deadline. Please include “Paper Submission - Accounting, Finance, and Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets Symposium” in the subject line of the email. For anonymous review and future contacting purposes, please include authors’ information (name, institution, contacting author, phone number, e-mail address) as a separate page at the beginning of the paper.
After reviewing the submissions, the Symposium committee will notify the authors whether their paper is accepted by September 20th, 2019. We will select about 20 papers for workshop and discussion. Selected papers will be discussed by scholars in related research fields. The Symposium committee will recommend outstanding papers in Chinese to enter the anonymous reviewing process of the Economic Research Journal or Management World, conditioning on authors’ revision based on conference feedback. There is no registration fee for the Symposium. Participants are responsible for transportation and lodging expenses. Meals during the conference will be provided.
