On June 30, 2011, Professor Xie Bangchang, Fu Jen Catholic University, invited by Business Statistics Research Center to visit my school, and he made a presentation entitled “Cloud Computing in the Application of Data Mining and Business Intelligence”. Professor Jia Huaiqin presided this seminar, and Wang Qiang, the research director of UIBE, and Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship faculty as well as some students attend this seminar. Firstly, Professor Xie described the evolution of cloud computing concept, the national development strategy, and the large multinational perspectives on practical development of cloud computing. And then, Professor Xie used several cases to illustrate the role of data mining and statistical methods in cloud computing. During this lecture, Professor Xie discussed the data mining courses design with our school teachers, and this lecture ended in a warmly atmosphere.
