ZhaiXin Gave An Academic Lecture In Our School

At the invitation of the Department of Management, ZhaiXin, Associate Professor from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, gave an academic lecture on the afternoon of 15th, November, 2012 in room 426, Ningyuan Building. Professor Wu Jianfeng, deputy director of the Departement of Management, hosted this lecture and teachers, graduate students and doctoral students from the Department of Management attended the lecture.

Professor ZhaiXin graduated from Purdue University in the USA and currently is an associate professor in the Department of Management Science and Information Systems of Guanghua School of Management in Peking University. She is also a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). Her research areas are operation management, service operation, supply chain management,supply chain financing, green supply chain, operation strategy, etc. Some of her works have been published on some world-class academic journals, including International Journal of Information Systems and Supply Chain ManagementInternational Journal of Production ResearchOMEGA—International Journal of Management ScienceManufacturing and Service Operations Management, etc. Professor ZhaiXin has also initiated some projects which are firmly supported by National Natural Science Foundation and Ministry of Education Foundation for Overseas Returnees. She is presently an editor of the Enterprise Information Systems and also an anonymous reviewer of many well-known academic journals both home and abroad.

Professor ZhaiXin gave lecture about one of her theses tilted Founding Characteristics, Transnational Certifications, and Chinese Firms’ Corporate Social Responsibility Practices. In the article, organizational imprinting theory is used to study the impact of international certification on organizational social responsibility and ownership structure on labor protection and environmental organizations. Professor ZhaiXin analyzed international CSR certification and ownership structure from the perspectives of history and reality, making up the deficiencies of current literatures on this topic. During the lecture, there were heated discussions between Professor ZhaiXin and teachers and students from the Department of Management. Many teachers also gave Professor ZhaiXin constructive suggestions to further polish up the article.
