Associate Professor of BUCT Li Jian Came to Our School to Have Academic Communication
 

Li Jian, the associate professor from school of economics and management of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, gave us an academic lecture at the invitation of the department of management of international business school in room424 of Ningyuan Building on December 20th, 2012.The lecture was hosted by professor Ma Jun from department of management .Some teachers,postgraduates and doctoral students attended this lecture.

Li Jian, the associate professor, graduated from Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences and received the doctoral degree of management science and engineering. He wasalso awarded for outstanding doctoral dissertation by Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main research area include logistics and supply chain management and risk management.He has hosted two National Natural Science Foundation of China so far and took participate in one key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China as an important member of the research group. He has published two academic monographs and more than twenty papers in major journals at home and abroad, many of them were published in famous academic journals in China,such asInternational Journal of Production EconomicsOmegaJournal of Management Science and so on. He is the director of Beijing Operations Research Society, the special researcher of China Society of Logistics and also the editor of some academic journals like Advances in Information Sciences and Service Sciences.

The topic of his lecture was the Mean-Variance Analysis of the Supply Chain of Fast Fashion Products under Return Policy. He made deep analysis in coordination problems of the supply chain of fast fashion products and presented his latest achievements. He set up an optimization model of two-stage supply chain based on the characteristics of fast fashionproducts, especially the characteristic that out of stock will have positive effects on those companies and their supply chains and discussed the coordination problems of this kind of supply chain. This report aroused widespread interest in teachers and students from department of management and everyone took active part in discussing.Due to the geographical advantage of both schools, teachers and students of related majors hoped to establish regular communication.
