Program Highlights

1、Culture Odysseys
The program will organize students to participate in the culture odysseys to Xizang、Lijiang、Chongqing、Hangzhou、Guilin、Xian etc two times every year.
Tibet, province-level administrative region of China, located in a high-mountain area in the southwestern part of the country. It is officially called the Tibet (Chinese Xizang) Autonomous Region (TAR).
The TAR covers an area of 1,222,000 sq km (471,800 sq mi). With an average elevation of 4,900 m (16,000 ft), Tibet is the highest region on earth. For this reason, it is sometimes called the Roof of the World. The southern part of Tibet is situated entirely within the Himalayas, and many of the world’s highest summits are located in the main Himalayan chain, which extends along Tibet’s southern frontier.
Lijiang is a beautiful shining jewel on the Northwest Yunnan Plateau neighboring the southeast side of the Tibet. It is impressive because of its scenery and lush vegetation.
Lijiang boasts of breath-taking wonderful sights such as Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and its modern maritime glacier, the only one of its kind in the southern end of the Northern Hemisphere; Tiger Leaping Gorge; the world - famous grand canyon; Lugu Lake, the cultural cradle of the "Matriarchy" of the Yongning Mosuo people in Ninglang. Lijiang Town is officially called "Dayan Town"—— "Dayan" literally means a "great inkstab", a graphic description of the town's location on a piece of rich flatland fed by a river and surrounded by green mountains. There is no other town in China like Dayan which incorporates the folkways of so many people and the architectural styles of both north and south China.
Chongqing is located at the confluence of the Changjiang and Jialing Jiang rivers in eastern Sichuan. The city's history is over 2000 years old. The summer months are hot and humid in Chongqing. It has few older sights. The hot springs of Beipei and Nanwenquan are worth an excursion. It is possible of late to travel to Dazu and see the Buddhist caves.
Visitors not staying at Renmin Binguan guest house should really go there and take a look at the building, built in 1954. It was designed according to the traditional style and is suggestive of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The modern rooms are located in the wings. Local meetings and events take place in the main part of the building.
The city takes pleasure in several parks, including the People's Park, Renmin Gongyuan, in the southwest, Baihuatan Gongyuan in the west and the zoo in the northern district.
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang, is one of the old imperial Cities in China
Hangzhou lies in northern Zhejiang at the southern end of the Grand Ganal. The city is linked to Central China by an extensive network of canals. Population: 5.28 million.
Marco Polo called Hangzhou the most distinguished and beautiful city in the world. The widely--traveled Venetian was fascinated with the splendor of the huge edifices, the wide paved streets and the magnificent grounds along the shores of the Xihu, West Lake. He admired the people's friendliness, hospitality and peaceableness, their silken clothing and the women's valuable jewelry. In those days, Hangzhou had an estimated population of 1.6 million, and the city was a flourishing trade center.
In fact, Hangzhou is still one of the most beautiful destinations of a trip through China.
Guilin is located in Guangxi's northeastern region on the upper course of the Lijiang, one of the sources of Guijiang river. Population: 690,000
The two rivers Lijiang and Xiangjiang flow fairly close together nor far from Guilin. This natural feature proved advantageous for a noteworthy project more than 2,000 years ago.
Autumn is the most beautiful season for a visit to Guilin. At that time the city filled with the beguiling scent of cassia trees, and the city bears its name 'Fragrant Blossom Wood' with justice.
At home and abroad, Guilin is primarily known for its enticing and unique scenery. Chinese frequently refer to it as the world's most beautiful scenery, and one will acknowledge its beauty once one has taken a relatively tranquil trip down the Lijiang. Guilin offers travelers a number of interesting sights. Those who are staying only a single day in Guilin should take a trip down the Lijiang or visit Ludi Yan, Reed Flute Cave, and Qixing Gongyuan, Seven Star Park. A two-day stay allows the visitor to take advantage of both options. Any additional time could be profitably spent visiting Duxiu Feng, Diecai Shan and Fubo Shan.
Xi'an, is the capital of Shanxi province in China. Known as one of the most important cities in Chinese history, Xi'an is listed as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China because it has been the capital of 13 dynasties such as Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang. Xi'an is also the eastern end of the Silk Road. The city has more than 3,100 years of history. It was called Chang'an, meaning "Perpetual Peace", in ancient times.
Xi'an is the largest and most developed city in the central to northwestern part of China and is ranked among the 10 largest cities in the nation.
