Department of Accounting

 

Training objectives: Department of Accounting began to recruit students of accounting major since 1985, aiming to train students with accounting professional ethics and social responsibility. We educate the students to be familiar with international accounting practices and related regulations, and equip the students with accounting, finance, audit, tax and other aspects of business management expertise and capacity. After studying related knowledge, they will have practical operational ability, innovation consciousness, inter-cultural communication skills, and teamwork capacity in order to engage in accounting, auditing, financial management and other aspects of the work and institutions in various units, accounting firms and government agencies.

Faculty: There are 19 full-time faculty members in Department of Accounting, including 8 professors, 5 associate professors and 6 assistant professors. Among them, 90% have graduate or higher degrees, 16 have PhD degrees. PhD rate is 84% and there are 6 faculty members who have international faculty background. Some faculty members serve as independent directors. They have done financial consulting or training for senior managers of large enterprises and presided over a national research project with a wealth of practical experience and academic research level. These have laid a good basis for the future of the department.

Degree settings: At the undergraduate level, we have bilingual education as the basis for the original English teaching materials for the carrier to improve the financial accounting module-based teaching, both in western accounting course content. We aim to create a diversified choice of career development platform.

In the Master of Science level, we insist on scientific, standardized principles and moderate width principal, highlighting the international, cutting-edge technology and bilingual teaching features. Taking measures such as mentoring, seminars and panel discussions to improve postgraduate study and research initiative .We also focus on training graduate students the ability to independently carry out scientific research.

In Master of Accounting (MPACC) level, in order to build high-quality, application-oriented accounting personnel for the goal-oriented adhere to the principles of international orientation, rooted in the local community, we create courses of product and capital markets by using case teaching methods, field research and the "going out" and "Please come in" combination approach, focusing closely integrate academic and vocational combination. We focus on training students who meet the needs of the community and have certain advantages in employment accountant talents.

In Ph.D. level, we have an international vision-oriented blueprint with a high level of papers published for the training benchmarks, while irregularly hiring overseas scholars in the field of accounting. Taking courses both on teaching learning and teaching model is to encourage doctoral students to participate in high-level academic exchanges and research projects. We try to give full play to their potential doctoral students and academic expertise and focus on training doctoral research and innovation capacity.

Disciplinary status: accounting discipline is one of the key disciplines in Beijing. Department of Accounting has been building financial accounting, management accounting and many other different levels of quality courses. Among them, the financial accounting and management accounting are for the Beijing boutique class and financial accounting is a bilingual university demonstration quality courses. Accounting courses team in Beijing was named outstanding teacher teaching team. Strength of Department of Accounting has been peer recognition.

Student Employment: Graduates’ employment rate has been among the forefront of the school, up to 95%. The main destination of graduation is: the big four accounting firms, financial institutions, foreign-funded enterprises, large state-owned enterprises, consulting firms, post-graduate or study abroad. Students’ performance in terms of professional skills, foreign language communication skills, teamwork, and other prominent is widely praised by the employer.
