AAOM/APJM Paper Develop Workshop

Asia Academy of Management (AAOM) and Asia Pacific Journal of Management (APJM) will conduct a paper development workshop (PDW) on May 19, 2022 at University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Beijing,China.

 

The workshop will be led by Li-Qun WEI, who is the Editor-in-Chief of APJM. Other panelists of PDW will include senior editors of APJM as well as other leading scholars.

 

The purpose of the PDW is to provide feedback to junior scholars and doctoral students on their research projects that are in advanced stage of development.Consistent with the mission of the Asia Academy of Management, our objective is to encourage scholars to do quality research on issues that are of relevance to Asia. While we certainly hope that the authors will develop their work and submit to APJM, there is no obligation to do so.

 

We encourage authors to submit their original work under two categories - full length papers and idea papers. Full length papers should not be more than 10,000 words in length, while proposals or paper ideas should not be more than 2500 words in length. You can submit the papers that you have previously submitted to APJM or other journals to get development feedback during the PDW. The space is limited to 20 papers.

 

Please make your submissions toliuxy@uibe.edu.cn(cc: uibehrob@126.com) byApril 30, 2022. We will make the final decisions and inform the authors by May 10, 2022.

 

Please note that AAOM members will receive priority to attend the PDW. The annual membership fee is HK$700 (About
 US$ 90)for academics and HK$500 (about US$ 65) for students. You get free electronic subscription to APJM with

Li-Qun WEI is aProfessor of Management in the Department of Management of School of Business, Hong Kong Baptist University. She received PhD in Managementafter her study at Chinese University of Hong Kong and University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include top management teams (TMTs),strategic human resource management (SHRM), and Chinese business strategy, with recent projects mainly focusing on the HRM system evolution and founding team effectiveness in entrepreneurial firms in China.With those published at premier academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Process, Leadership Quarterly, and Human Relations,she has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed, quality academic journals, plus some at the Best Paper proceedings of AoM and AIB annual conferences.Actively involved in various executive trainings, she has experiences of working in businesses and providing consultancy services to various kinds of firms especially small-and-medium sized enterprises. 

 

 

Xufei MA

APJM Senior Editor 

Dr. Xufei Ma is a professor at Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, School of Economics and Management (SEM), and a jointly appointed professor at Institute for Innovation Management, Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), Tsinghua University. He received the PhD from National University of Singapore. He’s interested in research on multinational and entrepreneurial firms from and in China with papers published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, and Journal of Business Venturing. He was the winner of the Haynes Prize for the Most Promising Scholar awarded by AIB, the Dunning Fellow of the John H. Dunning Center for International Business, and the recipient of the JIBS 50th Anniversary Silver Medal. Before Dr. Ma joined Tsinghua, he had worked, respectively, at City University of Hong Kong, and Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he was the director for Center for Entrepreneurship and Center of International Business Studies. He had served as a guest editor for JIBS and JMS and he’s currently a Senior Editor for APJM and MOR. Prior to the academic career, he worked as an international business manager at a Fortune Global 500 Corporation in Beijing and Shanghai. He’s now a Co-Secretary of C50+ Forum and a Co-Chairman/Co-Founder of Greater Bay Area Senior Scholar College.

 

 

WONG, Chi-sum

The Chinese University of Hong Kong 

Dr. Chi-Sum WONG is professor of Management at the Department of Management of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management of Purdue University in theUSA. Dr. Wong has published and presented about two hundred articles in academic journals and international conferences. His co-authored article concerning employee trust in Chinese joint ventures published in 2002 was selected by Emerald Management Review as one of the best 50 management articles among the 20,000 articles published in the same year around the world, and another article on localization of human resources in mainland China was selected as one of the five best papers in the international human resource management area in 2009 by the Academy of Management. He has served on the editorial board of various journals such asAcademy of Management Journal, International Journal of Business Studies, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Journal of World Business, and he is the immediate past Editor-in-Chief ofAsia Pacific Journal of Management

 

 

Ziliang DENG

APJM Senior Editor 

Ziliang Deng is a Professor of Management and Associate Dean (research and global engagement) at Renmin Business School, Renmin University of China. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham in the UK in 2009. His recent research has focused on global strategy in the Chinese context. His works have appeared in Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, Management International Review, Journal of Business Ethics,among others in the recent five years. He serves as a Senior Editor of Asia Pacific Journal of Management and an Associate Editor of Journal of International Management.
