The Instruction on Career Guidance and Consulting Service from CDC, Business School of UIBE

Career Development Center (CDC), Business School of University of International Business & Economics (UIBE) has been providing career guidance and counseling service for undergraduates, graduates and doctors in Business School since this semester.

CDC, under the leadership of Working Group for Employment in Business School, is open to undergraduates, graduates, doctors, MBAs, international students and alumni. CDC is engaged in providing professional training, career guidance and consulting service to job applicants in Business School, and building a platform for employers and students to communicate.

With specialized counseling rooms and interview rooms, CDC has ten staff members who have obtained the qualifications of Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) and National Career Instructor.

Meanwhile, CDC plays an active role to exchange opinions with employers and get feedback of their requirements for employees. So far, CDC has over 40 members of employers and is committed to providing convenient, considerate, efficient and value-added service for all employers.

The Procedure for Booking Career Guidance and Consulting Service
Professional Counselor:

Time: From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Place: Counseling Room, 4F, Ningyuan Building

Appointment:
1. Please fill in the appointment form attached and send it to cdccenter@163.com three days in advance. Please specify your counseling time in your email. (Example: From 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., March 1, 2011 )
2. CDC will confirm the appointment by email at 12:00 one day before the appointment time at latest.
3. Please arrive at the counseling room on time.

Tips:
1. CDC will arrange professional counselors according to the appointment form emailed.
2. Please call Teacher Geng at 64493503 for confirmation if no reply is got after 12:00 one day before the appointment time.

1. Introduction of UIBEBS Alumni Association
UIBEBS Alumni Association was founded in March 2007, and is the first school-level permanent establishment for alumni work in UIBE. The permanent office of UIBEBS Alumni Association is the Secretariat, which provides services for all alumni of UIBEBS.

UIBEBS has been paying great attention to alumni work. UIBEBS upholds the concept of “contacting and serving the alumni to put forward the development of UIBEBS”, contacts UIBEBS alumni with the bachelor’s degree, the master’s degree and the doctor’s degree, graduates of the postgraduate courses class, as well as the overseas alumni via the Internet and other platforms, displays their demeanor, support the cause of alumni, serves the development of the alumni. With unremitting efforts, it conveys to the vast UIBEBS alumni the development of their alma mater, and strives to become an important bridge and bond of affection between the alumni and their alma mater and among the alumni.

2. Working Procedures
• Contacting with alumni,including maintaining daily relationship with alumni, establishing and updating alumni address book, and organizing activities for them. For instance, our alumni association has already established an alumni address book. The association also successfully held the 25th and 30th anniversaries of UIBEBS, each of which had more than 600 alumni on the spot.

• Organizing activities, including organizing 10th and 20th back-to-school gatherings for our alumni after their graduation as well as holding periodical meetings for the backbones of alumni. For example, in November of 2009, the alumni association organized 20th homecoming anniversary for our alumni who graduated in 1989, and more than 30 graduates returned UIBE.

• Providing alumni with intelligence support and a platform for continuous career development, including collecting and classifying recruiting information, holding alumni forum, entrepreneurship forum and other relevant ones. For example, the alumni association has held three different forums in December 2012,a scholar forum Business Education in the Era of Post Financial Crisis, an alumni forum China’s Economy in the Process of Globalization, and an international forum Imbalance in Economic Development and Differentiated Management.
