The final acceptance of major project of the National Natural Science Foundation, which Professor Xinmin Zhang was responsible for, was appraised as excellent
The major project final acceptance review meeting hosted by the Management Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China （NSFC） was held in Beijing on March 13th, 2023. "Research on Corporate Financial Behavior in the Internet Era", a major project of NSFC, which Professor Xinmin Zhang was responsible for, was appraised as "excellent" by the expert panel.
Zuoyi Liu, deputy director of the Management Science Department, and Zhiguang Ren, director of the Second Management Science Department, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Zuoyi Liu introduced relevant reform measures of project initiation and closure in recent years, stressing that major projects should adhere to the national strategic needs, interdisciplinary and scientific frontier research. Zhiguang Ren introduced the project review process, emphasized the financial requirements of the project, and hoped that experts would give relevant suggestions on the final acceptance.
The major project "Research on Key Scientific Issues of Accounting Audit and Corporate Finance Based on Chinese Environment" consists of five topics. At final acceptance meeting, Professor Shinong Wu, the general project leader, first made the project report, and the five project principals made the reports respectively.
On behalf of the research team of UIBE, Professor Xinmin Zhang reported the research and results of the major project "Research on Corporate Financial Behavior in the Internet Era". Since the project approval, the research team has published a total of 102 papers in academic journals at home and abroad, including 23 papers in English journals （5 papers in UTD24 journals）, 79 papers in Chinese journals （9 in "Management World" and 4 in "Economic Research"）, 2 published books and 8 completed research reports （2 of which have been adopted by the regulatory authorities）. On this basis, the research team uses academic research to nurture education, teaching and talent training. In the past five years, the team has compiled 3 textbooks, created a virtual Teaching and Research Office of the Ministry of Education, developed 2 national first-class undergraduate courses and 3 Beijing quality courses, and won 4 provincial level scientific research achievements awards and 3 educational and teaching achievements awards. The team has also been selected as "The Huang Danian Teacher Group in National Universities", 12 members have won the title of talents at provincial level or above, and a total of more than 200 masters, doctors and post-doctors have been cultivated, promoting the high-quality development of the discipline.
Through the concluding review and exchange, the expert panel agreed that the UIBE research team has formed a series of landmark academic achievements, representative analysis framework and outstanding educational and teaching results on the basis of systematically exploring the new characteristics, new rules and new theories of corporate financial behavior in the internet era, which is both theoretical and practical guidance. The final acceptance evaluation is "excellent".
In the end, Zhiguang Ren made a summary of the meeting. While congratulating the general project and each subject on passing the acceptance with "excellent", he hoped to continue to promote the relevant work of forming China's independent accounting, auditing and corporate finance knowledge system, and help the further development of business administration discipline.
