UIBE Business School Holds 2025 Newly Recruited Faculty Training Session
On the afternoon of September 23, 2025, the UIBE Business School held a training session for newly recruited faculty members in Conference Room 529 of Ningyuan Building. Li Mengyi, Deputy Director of the Party Committee Teachers' Work Department and Deputy Director of the Human Resources Office, all members of the Party and administrative leadership team of the UIBE Business School, and faculty representatives attended the meeting. They discussed the construction of teachers' ethics and professional development plans with the newly recruited teachers of the school.
Professor Xing Xiaoqiang, Dean of the UIBE Business School, first extended a warm welcome to the new teachers on behalf of the school. Dean Xing pointed out that the International Business School has a complete business discipline layout, which provides unique conditions for interdisciplinary research. He encouraged the new teachers to integrate into the school's "embedded development", strengthen collaboration, coordination, communication and sharing, actively offer suggestions, achieve mutual success and common growth on the platform of the business school, and build a distinctive label of UIBE Business School. He also urged the new teachers to aim high, make sound career plans, grasp the academic logic and the logic of constructing an independent knowledge system, and contribute to the discipline construction and the school's development.
Li Mengyi, Deputy Director of the Party Committee Teachers' Work Department and Deputy Director of the Human Resources Office, gave a special training on teachers' ethics and conduct warning education. With the "Ten Guidelines for University Teachers" as the framework, and combined with the analysis of typical cases of teachers' ethics violations in the education system and the university, she took cases as warnings and clarifications of discipline, drew red lines and defined bottom lines for the new teachers. She particularly reminded the new teachers to conduct regular self-reflection, properly handle the supervisor-student relationship, be strict with themselves, and hoped that they would deeply understand the connotation of the educator's spirit, correct their professional attitude, abide by professional ethics, and strive to be good teachers with profound knowledge and upright conduct.
Leaders of the UIBE Business School provided training for the newteachers based on their respective areas of responsibility. Vice Dean Wang Zhihui introduced the basic situation of undergraduate teaching and program construction, as well as the school's international development. He emphasized that undergraduate teaching is the main front for fostering virtue through education. The school will promote innovation in undergraduate program construction and deepen international cooperation based on its unique advantages, and expects new teachers to contribute their experiences from prestigious universities. Vice Dean Zhu Jigao introduced the training of academic master's and doctoral students, the school's research support policies, research achievements in recent years, and the development of disciplines. He encouraged new teachers to integrate cutting-edge knowledge into the training system and put forward suggestions on new teachers' application for research projects. Vice Dean Yang Zhenning introduced the training of professional master's students, the operation of the school's EE Center, MBA Center and MPACC Center, as well as the school's efforts to establish a classified training system to promote practical innovation. He encouraged new teachers to actively participate in these initiatives to promotethe integrated development of industry, academia and research.
Deputy Secretary Xie Jing introduced the student Party building and ideological and political work, as well as the efforts of the student work team to adhere to the bottom line of safety and stability and safeguard students' growth. She put forward suggestions on the communication methods between new teachers and students when serving as class teachers, and encouraged new teachers to play an active role in guiding students to participate in competitions. Peng Jianhua, Deputy Department-level Organization Member, introduced the requirements of higher authorities and the university on teachers' ideological and political work and the construction of teachers' ethics, as well as the basic situation of the school's teacher Party building and teachers' ethics construction. Tang Hao, Director of the Office, introduced the school's administrative work and stated that the administrative team would provide comprehensive service support to help new teachers quickly integrate into the school.
In the interactive exchange session, the newly recruited teachers introduced themselves in terms of their educational background, research directions and hobbies, and expressed their confidence and expectations for future teaching and research work. The school invited two young teacher representatives who joined in 2020 and 2023 to share their experiences with the new teachers. Associate Professor Guo Li from the Department of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior shared her experience and insights on "adjusting strategies in a timely manner, achieving small successes first before pursuing greater goals, and finally getting out of difficulties" in teaching and research. She encouraged new teachers to expand their cooperation networks, maintain research focus, and adhere to valuable research directions. Lecturer Wang Kunjue from the Department of Accounting shared her precious experience in participating in the "Knowledge and Action in China" national conditions education practice. "Three months of grassroots training allowed me to truly step out of the ivory tower and understand the real China," she said. Her experience also made the new teachers full of expectations for the upcoming national conditions education practice.
Finally, Professor Wang Tiedong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the UIBE Business School, delivered a concluding speech. He pointed out that the training had rich content, reflecting the school's high attention to the construction of the teaching team. New teachers should firm their political stance, keep in mind the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, thoroughly study and implement the educator's spirit, take the national Huang Danian-style teacher team as an example, and regard the construction of teachers' ethics and conduct as a lifelong subject in their career. The Party Committee of the school will fully support teachers' development, create a good growth environment, improve the "mentorship" mechanism, and help new teachers grow rapidly. He hoped that new teachers would actively integrate into the school's development, play an active role in teaching, research and social services, and contribute to the school's "Double First-Class" construction.
As the "first lesson" in the new teachers' career, this training laid a solid foundation for them to better integrate into the school and fulfill the mission of teaching and educating people. The International Business School will continue to support the growth and development of new teachers and jointly write a new chapter of "cultivating talents for the Party and the country".
