Research Seminar “Probabilistic Selling under Vertical Differentiation” by Zhang Zelin

On April 11, 2013, Dr. Zhang Zelin from the Business School of Renmin University of China came to our department to carry out academic exchanges. Dr. Zhang Zelin graduated from the Business School of University of Kansas. His main research areas include pricing theory, game theory, online retail and advertising strategies, and his paper “ Forecasting Abnormal Stock Trading Volume Using Investor Sentiment: Evidence from Online Search” was recently published in International Journal of Forecasting.

The topic was “Probabilistic Selling Under Vertical Differentiation”, a typical one in marketing modeling. Though the modeling is not quite in line with our faculty’s research field, Dr. Zhang Zelin has made his talk very easy to understand. Also he unreservedly shared with everyone his experiences in conducting research and polishing the writing paper for international publication. Everyone benefited a lot from this seminar .
