Meeting Held for Promoting Employment of Undergraduates in Business School

On October 15, the meeting was held in Room 431, Ningyuan Building for further promoting the employment of undergraduates who will graduate from UIBE in 2014. Present at the meeting were 110 undergraduates, Mr. Meng Dawei, deputy secretary of the Committee of Business School Party Branch, and Ms. Xie Jing, counselor of undergraduates. Ms. Xie presided over the meeting.

Xie Jing first introduced the number of graduating students majoring in financial management, business administration, accounting, human resources and marketing. Then according to the statistics and data concerning the employment of students graduating in 2013, she made an analysis of their employment situation. Last, she emphasized that employment information is mainly issued through QQ chatting group and public email, hoping that every student could log in the public email and QQ every day to check the updated employment information.

Secretary Meng informed the students of the still severe employment situation this year, in the hope that the graduating students could apply for jobs at their best. Meanwhile, Meng said that Business School would do its utmost to help and support students. He also emphasized that students should make full use of the website of Career Guidance Center, public email, specialized recruitment information websites, and Manual of Career Guidance and Development where students could obtain lessons and experience from students graduating last year, and give themselves an impetus to job searching. Secretary Meng said that, as a matter of experience, most offers are given to graduating students before mid-December. Therefore, students should make endeavors to get offers before that, and once getting an offer, students should cherish the opportunity.

In the end, teachers answered students’ questions about employment. They encouraged that, if any student has any question or difficulty, welcome them to talk and communicate with the counselor and other teachers. Business School is always on your side.
