Cargill Global Scholarship Presentation Ceremony Were Successfully Held

On August 27 and 28, Cargill Global Scholarship Presentation Ceremony & Leadership Seminar was successfully hosted in Shanghai. Attending this ceremony were 16 scholarship-winners from Business School, University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), and School of Food Science, China Agricultural University (CAU). Also, 16 managerial staff members from Cargill China were invited to attend this ceremony, to share their valuable experience with the university students. These administrative staff members would be mentors to the award winners in the next few years, helping them to set and realize short-term/long-term goals in study and career. Through the interaction with Cargill management, the students could build their business connections, and have a deep understanding of qualities a future leader needs.

In addition to getting scholarship, the university students would attend a series of trainings on leadership and professional competence. These activities aimed to facilitate students’ critical thinking and lay a solid foundation for their development to be leaders and decision-makers in the future.

Mr. Rong Shitan, vice president of Cargill Global Agriculture Supply Chain, pointed out, “Cargill Global Scholarship is intended to provide support for potential leaders in campus, as well as to help them broaden their horizons, improve their professional competence and establish long-term ties with Cargill.”

Besides, five most outstanding of the 16 students will be present at a one-week global leadership seminar to be held in Cargill’s headquarters or other Cargill-related place when the global scholarship program is implemented for the second year. The attendees will join in Cargill’s Alumni Association after their graduation from university.
