Introduction to the Doctoral Program
After thirty years’ development, the UIBE Business School has built a comprehensive academic framework of teaching and research. Forums are constantly organized to facilitate academic communication, research collaboration and joint schooling.
Training subjects
PhD students will receive an intensive professional training in an all round way. Courses of the programme are as thus. Accounting theories, company strategic inter-national administration, capital market and company finance, business startup management, optimization of small-medium sized enterprise administration, financial quality assessment, auditing, global marketing, risk control, industrial sustainable development, business statistics and polices research. PhD Student is trained to understand the overall theoretical ecology of their field, detect the latest valuable academic information, thus can independently or cooperatively conduct scientific research. Being able to put advanced managerial theories and business modals to use is another basic requirement for PhD student.
Honor PhD Programme
Different from common PhD programme, Honor PhD programme has only five posts for application each year. Applicant accepted can enjoy a total research subsidiary of RMB 120,000 from supervisor and the school during his/her four years’ study which aims to support students joining more international academic meeting and increase academic output.
The Application of Honor PhD Programme
1. This programme accepts only students of accounting, business management, technology economy and administration and industrial economics.
2. Applicant must have a full-time master degree, certain education background of relevant discipline, have published more than two (including two) research papers in CSSCI journals.
3. Applicant’s first foreign language has to be English.
Introduction to the International Postgraduate Program
The International PhD Program in Business Administration at UIBE Business School prepares candidates for research and teaching careers at leading educational institutions and for careers where advanced research and analytical capabilities are required. This program places major emphasis on independent inquiry, on the development of competence in research methodology, and on the communication of research results. Knowledge creation and discovery are the heart of this doctoral program. Candidates learn to become researchers by doing research, with the support of and collaboration with distinguished experts in the field.
The UIBE Business School offers the Ph.D. in Business Administration with 2 areas of concentration: International Business and International Marketing.
Full-Time Course of Study
UIBE Business School's international PhD Program is a full-time course of study. Most candidates take four years to complete degree requirements and defend their dissertation. The candidates begin active research at an early stage and work closely with supervisors throughout the program. They are also quickly drawn into the school’s intellectual environment by participating in workshops, where the work of fellow researchers is vigorously discussed and debated.
Highlights of the Programme
1. Efficient Tutorial Mechanism
International DBA student will be tutored by its supervisor. The tutor is the student’s first person responsible during his/her doctoral education at school, and is supposed to help student with his/her study and research. Tutors of PhD students also form the supervision committee to discuss and work out specific tutoring problems while in charge of the assessment of the students’ academic achievement.
2. Excellent Faculties
An academic research team of innovation and reasonable structure lays a solid foundation of supporting the students’ research. In addition, foreign experts and scholars are constantly invited to give lectures for students or to participate in other academic activities so as to update the latest research information and results.
3. Financial Support for Researches
Business School will set special fund for original research with significant academic and social impact. Meanwhile extra technical support and guidance from home and broad will be summoned and given to this research. The student responsible for the research will get subsidy for short-term visit to foreign research institution or attending international academic conference.
4. Joint-Training Programme
Business School has established a long-term cooperative relationship with a number of overseas prestigious colleges and universities in jointly training doctoral students. Every year a group of top doctoral students will get the chance of studying and researching overseas in sister schools for one or two years. The domestic tutor and foreign tutor will jointly help the student to identify the thesis topic as well as the following research.
